Our collection staff are nationally certified phlebotomy technicians, including NHA-certified professionals.

Every collection team member has at least three years of clinical phlebotomy experience before working a Stumptown visit. Our leadership brings more than 20 years of experience.

Meet our founder
Tadhg Shannon | Founder & Owner
Tadhg Shannon founded Stumptown’s Portland service in 2020 and remains directly involved in its day-to-day operations. A nationally certified phlebotomy and IV technician and educator, he brings experience spanning laboratories, physician offices, hospitals, ambulatory services, and biotechnology startups.
His background also includes acupuncture and herbal medicine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tadhg contributed to clinical validation work for SARS-CoV-2 multiplex assays and provided antibody testing in clinical and public health settings.
At Stumptown Mobile Lab Services, he draws on that experience to help oversee collection standards, service coordination, and relationships with patients and referral partners. His focus is professional specimen collection supported by clear communication and respect for each patient’s comfort and time.

Your collection, clearly explained.
We review your collection requirements and explain what your selected service includes. Collection, preparation, delivery, and shipping depend on the service, your provider’s order, and any laboratory or test-kit instructions.
For specimens sent to an outside laboratory, that laboratory performs the testing and releases results according to its process. For provider-ordered testing, your ordering provider helps you understand what the results mean. Certain services include point-of-care testing performed by Stumptown.
Stumptown Mobile Lab Services also operates Pacific Crest DNA Services, a specialized division providing DNA specimen collection and testing coordination for individuals, families, attorneys, and organizations throughout Oregon and Washington.

Stumptown carries professional liability and general liability insurance, each with coverage of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate.
Stumptown maintains a CLIA Certificate of Waiver for applicable point-of-care testing performed by Stumptown. Laboratory testing referred to an outside laboratory is performed by that laboratory under its own applicable credentials.
