What we collect, and what we don't

Mobile collection works because people trust us with sensitive moments. Here is how we treat the information around them, in plain language.

Our practices

Six commitments

  • We collect only the information needed to schedule and complete a collection.
  • Health details belong in your provider's order, not in website forms or ordinary email.
  • Appointment details for provider partners live in the portal; email only says an update is waiting.
  • We do not sell contact information or share it with advertisers.
  • Payment card data is handled by a payment processor, never stored by us.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.

SMS Consent and Mobile Information

We do not sell or share consumer personal information, including phone numbers, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or lead generation purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own messaging or marketing purposes.

If you opt in to receive text messages, we keep your mobile phone number and a record of your consent so we can send the service-related messages you asked for: appointment scheduling, confirmations, reminders, service updates, and customer support. We send texts through our business phone provider, Zoom, and they travel over wireless carrier networks. Those providers process your number and message content only as necessary to deliver our messages. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance.

Cookies and analytics

We use small text files (cookies) to keep the site working and to understand how visitors use it. Essential cookies are required for features like booking and security. Analytics and Marketing cookies are optional and are turned off by default.

You can change your choices at any time by clicking the cookie icon in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Nothing analytics-related loads until you allow it. If you decline, no measurement script is downloaded and no usage data leaves your browser.

Where health information belongs

Test results, diagnoses, and clinical history belong in your provider's order and in their systems — not in a website contact form and not in ordinary email. When we need to tell a provider partner that something changed, the message says only that an update is waiting; the details stay behind portal sign-in.

Insurance information for laboratory testing

Stumptown does not bill health insurance for our mobile collection service — our service fee is direct-pay and separate from any laboratory charges. For some provider-ordered draws, you may choose to give us your health plan and member information so it can be included with your laboratory documentation and the performing laboratory has what it needs to bill for the testing it performs. Providing it is optional.

When you do provide it, we store it in protected records available only to the staff who prepare laboratory paperwork, and we store any insurance-card images in private storage opened through short-lived authorized links. We never put member IDs or card images in ordinary email, in web addresses, or in analytics. Coverage, deductibles, copayments, and any remaining patient responsibility are determined by the performing laboratory and your health plan, not by Stumptown.
