FOR OLDER ADULTS & CAREGIVERS

Mobile blood draws for older adults

Whether you’re booking for yourself or someone you care for, we bring blood draws to your home or care community so lab work is easier to manage.

When it helps

When a blood draw at home can help

You don’t need to be homebound to book a blood draw at home. You’ll need your provider’s lab order, but no additional documentation showing why you need a home visit.

  • Getting to a lab is difficult, tiring, or means arranging a ride.
  • Waiting at a lab is uncomfortable or difficult to fit into your day.
  • You want or need a family member or caregiver with you during the blood draw.
  • You need regular lab work and want to avoid repeated trips.
  • Walking, keeping your balance, or moving between a wheelchair and a seat can make visits away from home difficult.

What to know

Planning the visit

Family and caregivers are welcome

If you’d like, a trusted family member, caregiver, or support person can help plan your visit and stay with you during the blood draw. If they book for you, they should enter your details as the patient and their own details as the booking contact.

Help us plan a comfortable visit

Tell us about any mobility needs, help finding or entering your home, or communication preferences so we can plan your visit.

Recurring lab work

If your provider orders regular blood work, you can book visits to match that schedule. For warfarin monitoring, see PT/INR PLUS for pricing on your first and additional eligible visits each calendar month.

Visits in residential care communities

You can book an individual visit in assisted living, independent living, memory care, or another residential care setting. For regular collections for several residents, ask about a coordinated collection program.

What it costs

From $59

  • Includes the first 25 round-trip miles and the first 30 minutes of travel.

A provider’s lab order is required. Laboratory testing may involve a separate charge from the lab.
